I guess we assumed since you've done so much and had your car so long, you would know what kind of rear diff your car has.
Especially since you're already worked on it.

I know you are probably right. Just don't assume and be helpful and nice instead. Like I said I did everything to my car by either researching or learning by doing it. This is just something I didn't know about even though I did switch the clutch plates in the jdm order. It's said and done with and I got what I needed to know. I appreciate all the help from most of you.

i was nice. i told you more than once that you had a mechanical rear diff. seeing how you had experience with the car, i assumed (again, my bad) that you know what in hell i was talking about.

There is a lot of bad and incorrect info in this thread.

USDM:
03-04 Evo 8 GSR = Non ACD, open front differential, mechanical rear diff
04 Evo 8 RS = Non ACD, LSD front differential, mechanical rear diff
05 Evo 8 GSR, MR, RS = ACD, LSD front differential, mechanical rear diff
06 Evo 9 GSR, MR, RS, SE = ACD, LSD front differential, mechanical rear diff
08-15 Evo GSR, MR, SE, FE = ACD, LSD front differential, SAYC rear diff
09-15 Lancer Ralliart = ACD, LSD front differential, mechanical rear diff

Rest of the world:
Evo 4 RS = LSD front differential, mechanical rear diff
Evo 4 GSR = open front differential, AYC rear diff
Evo 5 = same as above
Evo 5 late production = LSD front differential, AYC rear diff
Evo 6 = same as above
Evo 7 = ACD, LSD front differential, AYC rear diff
Evo 8 GSR, MR, FQ = ACD, LSD front differential, SAYC rear diff
Evo 8 RS, MR RS = ACD, LSD front differential, mechanical rear diff
Evo 9 GSR, MR, FQ = ACD, LSD front differential, SAYC rear diff
Evo 9 RS, MR RS, GT = ACD, LSD front differential, mechanical rear diff
Evo 10 GSR, FE, MR, FQ = ACD, LSD front differential, SAYC rear diff
Evo 10 RS = ACD, LSD front differential, mechanical rear diff
08-15 Lancer Ralliart = ACD, LSD front differential, mechanical rear diff
