So I'm looking to overhaul the motor and someone recommended the buschur motor build. I see so many choices of motor all the way to a 2.4 4G64 block. What is best option that won't cause complication. Best way to build head and then transmission/transfer case/differential? I'm guessing DSS for axles and driveshaft?

Thanks

transmission/tcase/diff you can send to shepherd or jacks trans and they can fix em for you if theres anything wrong with them but not cheap...motor wise theres a bunch of options out there...

how much would the three drivetrain components run for normal building to hold 600-700 hp?

the 5 speed tranny is fine...6 speed are rated up to 400 tq I think...tcase you prob need to upgrade the diff inside if you're gonna be launching and bigger bolts...read diff not too sure I'll let someone else chime in on that...

That's badass that I don't have to upgrade transmission, fifth gear is notchy at times and grinds slightly if you slam it into 5th gear. I will be changing fluid.

To answer your buschur question yes buschur is a great choice to go. Lots of high HP guys go with his motor so you can buy with confidence

I was looking at FP black ball bearing, I see that it makes power but is it reliable and would it be more wise to go a different route ?

A good idea is to plan ahead. Have a goal for what hp you want to achieve and build your modifications around that. The higher the hp the more supporting mods you'll need to reliably make that power. whether you want to run E85 is an important decision as well. If you want to go way beyond 500whp you'll need to upgrade the engine internals.
Good Luck and congrats!

I was told anything after 400 the internals would fold. I honestly want 5-600 hp. I'm not picky at all. I was told Evo 9 turbos make mid 4's. In all honesty I really just want to make the car fun

eh...theres stories of stock motor making 600whp but for how long who knows...i would do head studs, cams, turbo and try for 500whp until it blows up which with a good tune it may be a looooooong time...prob have to be on e85 to make that but idk...ill let others chime in...

Welcome to the board. I am new myself and came from the BMW M-world. I sold my E39 M5 to get an Evo VIII.

Congrats on the purchase; parts are way cheaper here on the darkside.
