New Evo Owner

Hello everyone I would like to introduce myself I just picked up a 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution VIII, I traded my 2002 BMW M3 for it. I can definitely say it's an entire different vehicle and I am loving it. I just ordered over 1200 in pure maintenance for the vehicle such as all timing components, wheel bearings, etc etc you get the idea. Car currently has Injen intake and all other Injen hard piping from what I was told. Not sure I'm saying this right but Buscher downpipe and exhaust, ISC Coil overs and Perrin sway bar.

I want to start doing some upgrades to it and don't know where to turn to. I want to have it tastefully faster but nothing ridiculous. I don't know the limits of the motor, I would like to rebuild it with forged internals after some time. I also would like to either put another front bumper and lip because I'm not a fan of the lip and black housing headlights.

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. I'm super new to JDM because I've owned nothing but Euros.

Thanks

It looks like the right side rear door or fender has been repainted. The colors are a shade off.

Thank you for noticing something that isn't, if you can help/guide me to the things that I have posted about then that would be great.

Welcome to the World of Evos! Best of luck! You have a great start right there! I've been 'in' since 1989. It's a great place to be! I bought my '06 Evo IX-MR new, and I am now about to build a 2.3 Stroker, .20 overbore. Have fun with your car! She looks great!

I agree 100%!! I just literally spend 1200 on pure maintenance items. I'm set it will only just increase. I'm very meticulous on keeping a car up to par.

Before upgrading anything you should do a leakdown and compression test to get a general idea of the condition of your engine.

This is a good idea, I actually am going to overhaul the entire motor eventually.
