OCD moment
LOL! Looking back now I realize that used to quietly bug me when I was on the freeway.
However where I live now 60 mph is the fastest speed limit so I can get on with the rest of my life.

I noticed that years ago. It kind of makes me laugh. One of those subcontractor businesses that makes the dials for Mitsubishi messed up and it was probably not noticed during QA.
What bothered me more was my now gone 2002 WRX steering wheel didn't point straight on the highway from the factory. And they all did that because of some spline problem I was told. It could be fixed with an alignment after purchase.

Likely has something to do with non-linear extrapolation of the speed reading. Seen this on other cars, and as well Evos have this at 25mph and 145mph as well. Probably compensating to keep the reading accurate as speed increases and accuracy decreases.
