Mitsubishi America Petition
Is there a way we can petition Mitsubishi of America to not **** up the MR the way Subaru ****ed up the STI by adding .5 liters. I have a funny feeling that if they bring the MR over here they're gonna try bring it to compete with the stats of the STI. I dunno about you all but i want the Evo MR, not the Evo MR....."made for Stupid Americans" . I don't want a muscle car, I want the same EVO and Evo MR that is available elsewhere !
Before i get flamed, no I do not think Americans are stupid, but corporate America does.

How is that "****ing" it up? .5 more of displacement is great.
If you have a problem with the 2.5L STI engine why not just sell it and buy a JDM 2.0L STI engine....believe it or not the 2.0 is actually cheaper.

1) The chances of them bringing over the MR are slim to none. They cut 2004 production due to a lack of Evolutions sales.
2) A 2.5L IronBlock would be awesome and guarantee more pump gas power.

He means with 2.5 liters, the evo would lose it's qualification as being a "rally" inspired car. The limit of displacement in rally is 2 liters, and Subaru broke that rule by adding another .5 to there engine. It may ensure more power, but the 4G63 is already a good enoug platform for pushin power.

The limit of displacement in rally IS 2.0L but that's major competitions, like the WRC. The STI runs a 2.0 in the WRC, I still haven't seen the Evo VIII rally car. (opps my bad, it's a lancer body.....doesn't that mean it loses legitimacy).
Subaru didn't break any rules, there's a 2.0 for the rest of the world and a 2.5 for N.A.. Blame your parents for the displacement non-sense, they're the one's that drive 5.7L SUVs.
Mitsubishi won't change from a 4g63 (even though it is old), they don't have the best R&D otherwise they'd have at least one other engine of significant note, meanwhile most other manufacturers have at least 2 very potent engines.
I don't see Mitsu changing the MR for the N.A. market, they didn't change the EVO for Canada, so why change the engine just for the states. Awful lot of research goes into a new engine, and the STI's engine was already developed, they just used better internals and such.

. We're quite apposed to the "buying an suv and not using it" idea. And I don't mean Subaru broke any "rules", but some potential AWD turbo sedan buyers may be put off becuase of the fact that the STi is straying away from the WRCBTW we have a ES300 and an MDX which serves a puropse.

I'd rather put my name on a petition against MMNA, for their dumb @$$ service techs and managers... those guys don't know a damn thing and when u ask them something they tell you to call mitsubishi's engineers. I hate rude people... Just fix the problem and some crying about it your getting credit for it anyways....
PS when stuff does break, blame it on urself MMNA for altering the Evolution and not redisgning its componets... Thats what happens when you make asumptions

I dont' understand the fixation with getting a car that is "authentic rally inspired". Inspired in marketing-speak means knock-off or wannabe. Ever since the Evo VI, when the WRC class changed homologation rules, the Evo's available to the general public were nothing like the real race cars. Street-legal Evos don't have an anti-lag system, yet few people complain about that and certainly we don't have a turbo restrictor. I mean, shouldn't the people insisting on rally-authenticity install turbo restrictors to "keep it real"?
