Exclamation Evo 9 engine power loss ..... HELP!

So last night I was driving On the highway when all of a sudden my car lost power. It would thread along but only at like 5mph. The car would start and stay idling but once in gear it had barely any power behind it. I just bought the car and I need to know ideas as too what may be wrong and how severe it could end up being.

First, Perform an inspection on all the intercooler piping, checking all clamps

Let us know what you find

The IC CONNECTOR to the engine was loose and came undone so thank you for the help. Works good now but my air/fuel gauge is still dropping and is all over the place . Something to be concerned about ? As well the service engine light is still on.

You need to get it checked and possibly retuned if it wasn't tuned properly for the modifications it has. Any pictures of the engine bay?

if you don't have evoscan/ecuflash pull your battery cables to reset your fuel trims. it would also be helpful if you search how to make a boost leak detector, its easy and cheap and will help determine lots of boost related problems. Good luck

Did you get any codes?
If you have leak checker already I would check it again. Also do you have flash cable or know any 1 that does it helps. I ask BC if not leaking any air I would expect a code.

Error code p0172 is making the service engine light go off . Something to do with the mass air flow sensor .

Did u check the front 02 sensor wires? They snake up on the front of engine on the cam gear side next to PS pump. When I got my car last yr the wires weren't in the proper clips and burnt the signal wire causing that code.

That guy at autozone told me it was most likely the MAF. Said his car was doing the same thing and once he swapped it out no problem. I'll be getting a new one within the week. I'll keep you updated.

I think I'm going to try cleaning it first and see if it's clogged.

Not a bad idea to clean it first also try cleaning out the plug at the same time and make sure there is no corrosion
