Evo 8 Engine help
Are there any Evo EXPERIENCED self techs out there in Houston ( or surrounding areas ) to meet me in person? my engine won't start nor crank, and I will not go to kozmic motors just so they can tell me I need a crazy costing engine rebuild when I know the problem isn't that serious.
thanks man for the reply ( not being a total jack *** ) ok so I jumped the car, then when I turn the key in the ignition you can here the starter " click ", but the engine does;t crank what so ever. After about 30 minutes, the whole vehicle goes dead, ( lights, gauge pods, everything will not illuminate ) I have checked ground wires, relays, alternator, everything that is electrical. She isn't throwing only engine codes, my evo 9 never had any issue like this. Maybe water? had a couple storms here but I keep the evo covered? maybe some water get through? contaminated oil? not sure? did also try push start!
so first verify the battery is good, you can take it to an auto parts place to be tested. Make sure your battery terminals are nice and clean too. Then you need to bust out a multimeter and check continuity between the battery terminal and the lug on the alternator, and the lug on the starter.

When the starter only "clicks" you either don't have enough battery power or the starter is bad. Obviously your battery is toast since you keep jumping it and then letting it drain completely trying to start your car. So replace your battery.
Once you have a new battery, if you still only get the "click". Replace the starter. Good to go.
