ok so this is weird
Greetings everyone. I have an 06 IX SE with 123k. I bought the car with 97k. Its a very used up Evo and its rather old in terms of the condition and kinda raggedy from how the old owner maintained it. Anyways the car never really had issues when I had it in Florida and I drove it up to NYC and I currently drive it here everyday. The city streets are HARSH and I experience a very uncomfortable ride with my BC coils and X wheels with 245/40s so its a very bumpy and stiff ride. Whenever I am driving the car and coming to a stop the idle begins to plunge before the engine stalls at a complete stop. I have to kick the dash with my left foot by the fuse/junction box to get the engine to start again otherwise it will just crank all day. I cant kick start it unless I kick the dash first so whatever the issue is can probably be narrowed down to an engine control related system whether that be a fuse or relay. My dash fuse box is mounted terribly so it might even be that but I keep reading about folks with bad fuel pumps and relays but if this was the case the car wouldn't even start move right? Perhaps the pump is going bad slowly but im not certain if the pump is going bad since the car is driveable. My idle is getting progressively lower and I was beginning to think I need a new idle control motor but could the degrading fuel pump be causing this? Also when im driving the gas pedal will give me no response because of whatever is making it cut off. Then I begin to kick the dash to start up the engine again. Ive heard 02 sensor grounding out could cause this, fuel and engine fuses and/or relays.
Its definitely a poor mans Evo lol. But she still has a lot of life left. I will make it my duty to keep this car running good. After all with 13k in payments left to go I have no other choice. I have no other car. I am going to start tearing up **** tomorrow so I can see what's going on by that fuse box. MinusPrevious your the man. Ill post some updates with pics
