Moran in Southfield. They did a really good job. They also did my airbag recall ... can't even tell they touched it. Would highly recommend.

LOL Do not got to Moran under any circumstances. I'm glad you got off OK.

They torqued my lugs down to 200+ ft. lbs. and then told me to get the eff out of their shop when I asked them to take them off so I can stop breaking hand tools trying. 1" impact FTL.

I took my evo to my local mechanic to have the transfer case pulled out to send it in for rebuild. HE couldn't take it apart because of rust. Now he can't put the control arms back on because the bolts they are meant to go into are rusted out. At this point once the transfer case is back in we are going to have to put it on a flat bed. I sure hope mitsu will fix it when I get it there. I think if I hadn't gone in the lower control arms may have broken off.

I took mine in and told them about the seized bolts. They said there was nothing they could do to free then and just sprayed it down. Ill eventually cut it open and fix it myself or get the tubular replacement

I wonder what it is that they use to spray the K-member with? Can it be purchased by a regular customer/consumer?

Actually they did the lower control arms, not the tie rods.

Hmm, need to call and see if my new one has been done yet. I got the papers in the mail about my old one, but never heard back from the dealer

Does anyone happen to know exactly what they need to take apart for the Passenger Airbag recall? Do they just access it from the top of the dash?

I'm going to take my '03 to the dealer soon for this. I already had to cut a hole to gain access to the left lower control arm bolt that was spinning/seized, just to replace it a few years ago. Hopefully I can get some other parts replaced as well. Those forged aluminum arms are essssspensive.

Giving this a little bit of a bump. I discovered yesterday that the bolt for the front LCA mount is completely loose due to failure of the welded nut behind the mount, which is surely because of rust. The bolt spins, but doesn't come out or tighten, so I know it's the nut. The mount moves in and out, video: https://www.reddit.com/r/MitsubishiE...ubframe_recall

I had the dealership check the subframe when this was originally done and they did not replace it but I feel like it should be replaced because it literally failed due to rust. Does anyone think I'll have luck at the dealership, even though it seems the rest of the crossmember seems to only have surface rust?
