Swapping ignition questions.

Ok here's the back story on everything. I just bought my 03 Evo which a snapped timing belt. While it was in the previous owners possession at a shop, some jackass tried to steal the car with a screw driver destroying the ignition.
I have a parts car that I can pull everything from, but my question is if I pull the ignition cylinder and immobilizer out of my parts car, will I still have to have the key reprogrammed or will swapping all the parts from the same car matter? Sorry I've tried to search but came up with no solid answers.

You could always swap the ignition and disable the immobilizer function via ECUflash...

I've got to get power to the car before I can use ECUflash though. Will the car power on with the new ignition installed, and just not start?
