Longest running ownership of Evo

Bought it Nov 2004, 2003 evo8
Currently at 72k miles, daily drove it for the first 3yrs, then clutch got too heavy...
Had to get a new DD. She's now a garage queen
Motor by Buschur, turbo kit by AMS with HTA 3076 turbo now, shep trans with Quaife front diff. GTWorx suspension, racing brake rotor. This is the first complete car built John Shepper did for a customer in his newly expanded garage at the time.
Thought about selling it numerous time but each time I took the car out for a drive my
Mind got changed. For pure driving experience this is still one of the best .

Guessing he means 2004? That being said I've had my '05 VIII since October 2004.....there are some OG '03 owners that bought in 03 that would have the US records. But my cousin's family has owned the same Evo IV since 1997

I just really don't think you'll find a longer evo8 owner than that

I still have one of the first Evo in the states in 2003. I think the dealer that sold me the car has been out of business in a decade! :\

I bought my car in January - without checking I don't remember if it was 2003 or 2004. A couple nights ago I was under it changing oil - oil change #37.

Got mine new in Apr 03, Might not be the longest owner, but I 'm pretty sure I have the record on still having a working original battery.

LOL in 2004, this is one the later one to get here. It didn't make it to the dealership until late 2003

OX - geez that's a record by any measure except maybe my Texas Instrument calculator. Bought in the mid1980's,the same battery didn't go out until 201x. Close to 30 yrs, granted it does not get used a whole lot

What will make this car even better if someone can integrate an electric supercharger to fill in the gap in the low rpm for big turbo car a la Q7 TDI. On a 2L motor a 12V system should give about 3lbs boost

Helps that it never sits longer than a day off the trickle, but still starts her down to 40F.

I've been searching electric turbo add on's about once a year. Still not much in the way of aftermarket. Appears 48V min would be needed to get anything meaningful out of it I'd be willing to add 100-150 lbs of additional turbo and batteries weight to get this to work.

Wonder if the stock rods could handle that super low end torque??

I've got a Texas Instuments BA-35 I bought in college in 1979. It is still running on the original battery and I use it daily.
