Hi, I have a 2005 evo9 it's making whining noise when it's in gear 2,3 specially and not matter I'm accelerate or not the noise is still there, I'm not so sure if it's from the transmission or the engine but when I'm rolling in natural or push the clutch down the noise went away. I'm planning to change transmission, t case and rear diff fluids soon, is that gona help?

 

Would help if you posted a video of the whine that you are experiencing ( this way we can help you identify it better ). However, if the trans/t-case is already whining, don't think changing the fluid will undo any damage done.

 

when you change the TC oil check the drain plug magnet and color of oil, if something looks not right, take your inspection plate off and inspect the teeth for wear.

Somethings up with my car too. Sounds like a supercharger whine lol.
