I'm replacing my strut for the second time now. I'm using an OEM for my Evo 8. The oil leaked out. The one that broke however didn't have the protector like it does on the otherwise. But I was wondering if the cover was crucial or that the roads I drive over are just too damn bumpy. I live in NYC.
