Buying a evo IX

Hey guys, im fairly new to the world of Evos, i Really dont know a whole lot about them and am currently looking into buying an Evo 9. Ive done some research and know a descent amount of things to look for when buying one. The car is completely stock except that it is tuned for e85. I was wondering how this effect the value of the car? The lot currently wants 21,000 for it and it has 101xxx miles on it. Is there anything in specific that i should look for while on the test drive or going through the inspection? if i do buy it should i keep it e85 and if i do what upgrades will be needed since it is stock? or should i switch it to 91?

post a link to the sale ad. i HIGHLY doubt it's stock if it's running e85.

also, it's not completely stock if it's tuned for e85. you need a tune, fuel pump, and injectors. you can run e85, but it's going to be a crap tune on stock stuff and not really give any benefit.

Ask if the timing belt, head gasket and balance shaft belts have been replaced. Also his boost level and if the Evo has arp headstuds.

First thing i noticed it doesnt have the evo 9 recaro's. Based on the pictures, i'd say 17-18.

Evo 9 GSR SSL Package. Looks to have a flexfuel tune/system installed based on the ethanol content being displayed. You'll most likely find some sort of aftermarket boost control, a wideband sensor in the downpipe, larger injectors, and at least a walbro 255.

See this thread for more info:

That car is 100% not a stock car.

painted wing, missing badging on the trunk and has a crap dealer badge, jdm rear, tanabe medallion exhaust, perrin intake, zeitronix a/f meter, aftermarket alarm, valve cover breather, some sort of bubble thing on the strut bar

i'd stay away. especially if you were told that car was stock, it's very much not stock.
