Evo 8 - sometimes dies when coming to a stop, thoughts?

is your tial vent to atmosphere? if so, that's likely the issue unless you're speed density tuned which you don't mention.

So what kind of intake is on this build? Are you VTA? Before you adjust anything

Not really, unless he is building boost, letting off the gas, and coming to a immediate stop. But it sounds like he's talking about normal driving. it doesn't take that long for the MAF to balance out.

The more likely scenario is your timing needs to be looked at in the low load areas as the cams may need a few degrees of timing in that area to avoid stumbling

Cam gear timing has been degree'd when motor was built.
