How to Check EBC Solenoid?
How to Check EBC Solenoid?
I have an AEM Truboost EBC thats at least four years old. It's moved from my Eclipse to my Evo. I have been having weird boost issues that are not boost leak or wastegate/actuator related. I think my solenoid may be starting to fail but I'm unsure how to check it. It has always been very easy to check MBCs but I've never had an EBC issue or reason to check anything. I couldn't find any real useful info online. Thanks ahead of time.
take the solenoid out and connect it to a 12v battery, should hear the solenoid click everytime you connect/disconnect it. Try connect/disconnect as fast as you can too.
If it only clicks sometimes than the coil inside it is probably failing and solenoid is junk. But it could also be your boost controller (electronics inside it) thats going bad, not the solenoid/
