Could someone recommend a good budget tire

Hey, guys! I need some help in picking a decent tire for the evo but nothing expensive. Looking to spend $65-85 a tire. Your help is much appreciated.

What kind of driving do you do? What rim size are you on? What are your power levels? There are really no good performance summer tires that'll fit a stock E5-9 rims in your budget.

I run Sumitomo HTZ 3s on my street wheels. They aren't the greatest performance tire but have good treadwear and are quiet on the street along this enough grip to not make the car useless. They run just under $100 a tire depending on size. I get 255/40/17 shipped to my door from tirerack for <$400.

My recommendation would be the Toyo Proxes 4 Plus or the General Gmax AS-03 if you are looking for an all-season tire with good tread life and grip. Great bang for the buck tire. I've seen then for under $90 in 245/40/17. I was adviced not to run greater than 245 on an 8inch wide rim, assuming you are using factory evo rims 17x8.

I guess it depends on how your'e gonna drive the evo and how the weather is out where u live. My brothers bought an all-season long tires bfgoodgrich for his ms3 for $400 for all 4 tires. Im trying to get the same soon as tirerack hits sale.

Federal or Achilles have some great budget options.

Would like to know why they would say they say you should run anything over 245s on 8 inch ride rims ? I see lot of guys running 255s

Can anyone explain this to me ?

Possibly, yep. . I remember running a 225 DR on an 8" wheel. They ran wide, for their size, so very squishy.

Can I just swap out two tires if my current tires are only about 15000 miles old? I have one that's supposedly damaged. I currently have bf goodrich comp-2 however one of my tires are shot and needs replacing. Money is tight so I was thinking of just getting two new ones and putting them on the car. Is it alright to just do two given the tires are only 15000 miles old?
