Why is the Cobb port frowned upon for the 06' and below? I specifically have an 06' MR which is MiVec like the X. So I would assume that the programming would be great for it as well.

 

Because open source is far better.

 

I don't think it's frowned upon more so that there are just better options. Cobb hasn't supported the 8/9 in years. Also with how Cobb AP is setup with OTS tunes the majority of the Evo 8/9 left cant take advantage of it since they're all modified in some way or another. Open source is probably a better option, especially with Tephra/Ceddymods. You can get your car pro tuned for less than a Cobb AP.
