What Oil and Oil Filter are you Running?

I Recently sold my STi and turned to the Dark Side Muahahaha
and in my Subarus i always ran the Blue Subaru Oil Filters bcuz they were best, but now im curious what Oil Filters all the Evo owners are running.
Also, English Racing tuned my car, and they run 20w50 in all of their race cars. I personally like Valvoline VR1 20w50 bcuz it has High Zinc, which is good for bigger Cams. What is everyone else running?

I have a Subaru and an Evo and I run the same filter on both cars. So, if the Subaru Blue is best why no run it on the Evo?

If you ask for a 1995 Dodge Stealth oil filter you'll get a larger filter. The standard Evo oil filter is the same size as the John Deere oil filter on my SB14 walk behind mower with a 5 hp engine.

I own 450whp stock block Evo IX and a 430whp stock block Evo X. Both cars get OEM oil filters and 10w-30 VR1 (gray bottle) every 3,000 miles.

Is the engine using OEM tolerances or is this built? That would really change the oil specs. Since my car's engine is still OEM tolerances it's never had anything other than high mileage 10W30 Mobil 1. Folks will fret about that but as an OO I like the 12.5 years dd and tracking on that setup. Last set came back from black stone at the end of a track season and looked great.

I don't want to beat a dead horse here but one of the topics that comes up in this thread we are directed to is how often does a oil filter bypass? The stated conclusions are that is doesn't happen that often, only during cold startup, or WOT, or when the media is clogged. I suggest a better answer would be never. Serious over the road machines run big oil filters nothing like the dinky one we have on our cars. That's why I recommend a size larger which should be a little better.

The thread starter who did the research states in several places in the thread that a larger filter would be better.

You're all wrong. Run distilled water, and delete the filter for best performance.

I've been lurking on a VW forum and the bugs used a heavy screen with large openings (I wonder what the micron filtration of that would be) as a filter and some of those bugs are still on the road. It makes you wonder.

Those screens have ~1/8' openings, so ~3175 microns
