Rear bumper: JDM IX vs Bayson R Ebay Replica
To put it bluntly, living in Canada greatly impacts my ability to find quality parts at decent prices. I've had a ton of trouble trying to find a JDM Evo IX rear bumper shipped for a fair price (in fact, many suppliers wont even ship here regardless!)
I came across what some have found to be a reasonable, more cost effective alternative in the Bayson R JDM Evo IX Ebay replica (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/JDM-Style-Rea...lVC7P~&vxp=mtr)
My specific question is, how do the dimensions of the replica compare to the JDM bumper? Ive heard that this replica has the same code markings on the inside as found on the JDM bumper (indicating that Bayson may have used the JDM bumper as a mould?)
When put side to side, can one tell that it's a replica? Does any one have any experience with these?

Did you check your local Mitsubishi dealer? For oem bumper?
Not sure what part of Canada you are in but cherry hill Mitsubishi in New Jersey had just about the cheapest price I could find on them.
Also in regards to the bayson. I have seen it a few times in pictures and it looked good. Couldn't tell the difference in pictures. I just preferred oem and went with that. I have had too many experiences/regrets with not doing it right the first time.

is it possible to pick something up and bring it into Canada from the US?
If so you can have it shipped to anyone you may know on the west coast int he US... and then physically pick it up from them.
If the above is not an option, I got mine from these guys below and they will ship to Canada and you can contact them for a quote.

my 2 cents on replicas vs OEM... I cannot vouch for Bayson but given that you are paying $400 US for it, you may as well go with OEM. Since you will still have to pay someone to paint it. I just did mine and after all that work, I would not want and take a chance on the fitment being spot on.
The Bayson is Poly so that may be better than other replicas out there which are fiberglass.

I have one on my IX along with the STM bar, it isnt perfect, there is a slight warp around where the license plate hole is, but it's not bad!
also, how much is the OEM going for these days? I believe it was at least ~800?
not sure.

Call Mitsubishiparts.net and order an OEM one. Then just drive down and pick it up. They are located in Olympia, WA https://mitsubishiparts.net/
