buying a trans
u need to make up ur mind if u want a 5speed or a 6speed first..
most people switch to a 5 after blowing the 6 speed..
i read about it having better ratios and longevity
only problem is i find them a little bit more expensive.
If theres anymore that rebuilt a 6 stronger or changed around gearing in a 5, id love to hear from them and what they went by.

The 5 speed is stronger, and a lot of different shops have rebuilt and reinforced transmissions that have tighter tolerances, different input shafts, and so on.
Jacks Transmissions has a page where they have the ratios for the 5 speeds with different final drives.

Im currently debating which direction I want to go when I switch all that stuff out, currently I am thinking Jacks.
Buschur also does new transmissions and their website says that the transmission is revised. Here is the link for the 6 speed.

I think what most people go with is a 5 speed with a taller FD. I know I bought my car with a buschur 5 speed and it takes abuse quite well.
