California 4G63 Knowledgeable Engine Machine/Build Shop

Any 4G63 knowledgeable and reputable engine machine/build shops in Commifornia?
Looking to get three short blocks built.
2.2L 91 DSM 6-bolt
2.2L 99 DSM 7-bolt
LR2.4L 99 DSM 7-bolt
I've heard of Dave's Engine Machine in the Bay Area, but apparently they're busy and expensive.
A shop being busy is a good thing, but damn, they say to leave a message and they'll get back to you in the order received. Then they're by appointments only.
It's been 3 weeks since I've called and nothing.

I am willing to ship my parts out of state, but I'd rather try a local shop.

Thanks in advance!

You're in Norcal, so probably not to crazy to drive up to English Racing and drop off your stuff. I would give them a call.

640 miles one way.
Hmmm, if all else fails, I guess that's an option.

Can always ship. Short blocks aren't too bad. Since you're sending three, you can just pallet them and send them via freight service.

That is an option too.
The 6-bolt is my buddy's and I do not think he's willing to throw down the kind of coin ER charges for one of their SLR2.2's.

However, I on the other hand would spend that kinda coin.

Are you kidding me?

This state is ran by a bunch of democratic communists.

There are many reasons why this state sucks.
Where do I start?
91 craptane
ridiculous emissions testing and requirements.
very few gas stations with E85.
10 round magazine limit
restricted guns of all shapes and sizes.
Governor brown stain is a global warming lunatic that needs to be taken out... of office!
Bullet train to no where.
Tunnels funneling water from the Delta to LA.
It goes on and on!

Sounds like it's time for you to move then. It doesn't sound like there is anything keeping you here.

Believe me, I would if I could.
I have 16 yrs in at my career and the pension I can receive when I retire is pretty much unheard of nowadays.

Back on topic.

Still looking for a semi-local engine machine shop.

Anyone heard of Total Engine Machine out in Napa?

Okay, so you'll just sit and b**ch, sounds productive.

Let's be honest here, you can move, you just choose not to.

On Topic: Try Rob's in Hayward. That is who a lot of local Mitsu/Subaru shops use.

Okay...

Yeah, you're right, I can choose to move and I might look into it now that you mentioned it, thanks.

I've heard of Rob's.
I think Full Function used to use them for their DSM/Evo builds back in the day.

I'll give them a call.

It's quite a predicament my friend.

There are sooo many reasons why I can't just pack up and move.

If the Pros outweighed the Cons we wouldn't be having this discussion.

So instead, I'm trying to build a couple of motors so my friend and I can enjoy our cars here in Commifornia.

I believe FFTEC still uses them, as do GST and some others.

My block and head was done by them, but I only have 50 miles on them so I can't give a real-world report yet.

let's clean it up guys, there's a place for this.

OP, may be more productive to separate your engine building needs from your political needs in this thread
