airbags replaced with same faulty product?
Thought this might be an interesting article. A guy in AU recently died due to the faulty airbag which lit up a few articles to come out of it.

Quoted from Article: “The airbags degrade over time and can become lethal by misdeploying and firing metal shards at the car’s occupants,” Sims said.
“If consumers have already had their air bag replaced, they should contact their manufacturer for advice as to what kind of airbag it was replaced with and how long it is expected to last.”
Choice contacted the 14 car manufacturers affected in Australia over their recall process: many confirmed a percentage of cars were refitted with like-for-like replacements and will therefore have to be recalled again.

Aluminum powder and aluminum flake have been used in explosives for 100 years to enhance blast radius. Aluminum powder alone mixed with water can form an explosive more powerful than nitroglycerin. The airbag ignitors are aluminum and over time, exposed to humidity or water, corrode, producing small amounts of aluminum powder.
