Diff fill plug stuck

I've attempted to undo my fill plug on the rear diff for a service (drain plug is still on of course ) but I rounded it a little. I do have some good lock-on sockets that are perfect for this situation but I cannot put it on as there is another bolt in the way. Is it safe to take off said bolt to access the fill and how much does it need to be re-torqued. Also what sizes is the fill plug so I can put in another after I change the oil.

My one was stuck too so I heated it up and used a hex head socket and finally got it, made sure I replaced the bolt too

The thing is though, I can't even fit the 17mm on it because the other bolt is in the way. Also do you know what size the bolt was?
