BOV failing?

Hey guys, apologies for what is probably a silly question but I need a sanity check.

My car’s radiator cracked a couple days ago so I ordered a Koyo to replace it with. Work has been crazy for me so I opted to drop the car off at a local shop to get it installed.

Before the radiator was replaced, my BOV made the typical “pshhhh” sound, however now when letting off the throttle there is a loud flutter instead. Could the mechanic have moved/disconnected/rerouted something that would cause this?

I know that my BOV was leaking (from a boost leak test) but it seems unlikely that it would suddenly change so dramatically. I have an OEM valve to replace it with, just waiting for my car to come out of the body shop.

I would appreciate any knowledge you can share, thanks in advance.

Maybe they removed your intake to get fans off and installed bov upside down. Post a pic of intake and bov

^^ This.

99% sure it's upside down.

Took me way longer to get the car back than I thought.

Here is the current BOV positioning, I'm assuming I need to put the new one in like I have positioned in the second photo.

Bottom port of DV goes to UICP side pot goes to the Intake tube. If you hook it up backwards you get horrible drivability, shuttering, bucking, surge, etc...

Looks like the hose from the manifold is pinched off against the fan shroud. Before you say it is okay remember the engine moves back and forth on its mounts.

I installed the new BOV as per the recommendations, car drives much smoother now. I also made sure the tube to the intake wasn’t at such an extreme angle.

Thanks guys for the help, seriously.

It was installed backwards by the shop that did the radiator. The new BOV is working great and is installed properly, thanks again to everyone for their help.
