I don't think anyone buys their cars with the intentions on ever selling, but life does take unexpected turns and decisions are made. I, for one, am on the same boat. I've owned my Evo IV for over 4 years now and probably have only driven the car 10k miles and that is being generous at best. I never thought the day would even cross my mind to sell it, but I've been up on the fence for the last 6 months now. The car has been torn apart for 9months now and the desire just isn't there like it once was.
At first I'm like, "you are nuts. I'd drive the crap out of that EVERY day". But..then I remember how it was when my car was down for 6mos. I just wanted to get rid of it and buy something I could enjoy. I feel your pain, my friend.

I'm in CA. You do NOT want to know what registration is here LOL. I think I paid almost $200 for my '06 car. Yes.. twelve years old and still paying that much. On the bright side, my insurance is $94/mo with 1,000mi towing/year. I guess if we both add up registration and insurance for the year, I'm still pretty lucky.
I have No payment either... and I can't say I'm really in a hurry to have one. That is 25% the reason I keep the car.
Though I miss having a warranty... to void.
The engine is my car has always felt tight. It used to bog in first gear from a stop. Now, at 120K it finally feels like it is breaking in - more power, more willing to rev. I never thought I'd have to own a car for 15 years to break in its engine.
I have no plans to ever sell my Evo IX either, short of some physical ailments. I've had it since new in 2006 and only have 41K on it so it should easily go another 11 years. I'll be 64 by then and everything else on the road will be autonomous so it will be interesting driving it then.
A couple years down the road, you may not be able to buy a man trans car at all.
Add in that all the new car nannies. Have to spend major bucks just to get a car that might even let you try and corner super aggressively, and then you have to go through 5 "computer" screens to get in the right "mode" first.

Uh don't even get me started. I am going to end up building my own cars from scratch I swear to god.

Is this located in the Tampa area. I thought i saw this 2 years ago in Odessa. She is very nice.
Hate to see another long time member drop out, but that's the way she goes. I'm holding onto my IX that I've had since new. She is getting a new 2.4LR this year as I got too enthusiastic on my stock bottom end. Cheers and good health to ya!
