From: Why do they always call the Evo the Dark Side?
I think in 2004 only the RS had a front diff. It wasn't until 05 that the front LSD was standard.

Couple local Socal ones for sale....
147k miles, needs some paint
Modded but extra cheap (probably sell the modded parts to fund going back to stock)
171k miles but stock and good condition (one owner at that!)

I saw those as well.
The market for evos definitely higher than last time I looked(3-5years ago)
I thought i was gonna get a decent one for 15k but damn they are around 20-25k for 100k> mileage

I think the prices have shot up in the last year. Seeing the ones for sale now makes me feel better about how much I paid for mine.
I've looked around for the last 3 years pretty consistently and there are so many bad deals out there...and really dishonest people unfortunately. I finally found an original CA 3-owner car with 54k and paid 24k...That being said, I was only willing to break the 20k barrier for the right car - and she's home!
A lot of people were saying that the Evo 9 wouldn't hold value like the mk4 supra, but according to what we have seen, it has so far. FWIW, in 2009 you could buy an evo 9 GSR or SE with less than 14,000 miles for under $23,000. 10 years later mileage and rust went up everywhere, but prices have not dropped.
