I’m sure a lot of you have seen it posted on the Cosmo Motors website. Had Lemon Squad go out and do an inspection since I’m a few states away. Seems to be in good shape but spent a lot of time up north and looks to have some surface rust. That a some chips both in the paint and the on the windshield make me think the price is high. (Which I already felt the price was off a bit for the mileage and the fact that it’s not completely “stock”) Thoughts? They say they’re a no haggle dealership.
Money is loose right now and people will spend what they are comfortable with on the right car. Looking at the door panels, paint and such it appears to be a clean stockish car. The hardware on most of the bolts and shock towers look good to me but you would really need to inspect the car yourself. Or pay someone. Rust is hard to stop.
I think it is priced a bit high but how many cleanish stock cars are there left? Its nice to start with a clean slate or leave it stock and drive it.
Everyone is quick to complain on pricing/small marks but the dealer knows the car will move eventually because of what it is.
Going off BAT there are a few examples like this that sold in the last year for 30+
^ why? i think its a good deal, an ix in good stock condition like that is not easy to find now, naturally the price wont be the same as buying an it in 2012. I find evom members talk big about getting amazing deals on their evos but never really see those deals in reality.
I bid on some of those BAT auctions. I’ve been searching for a low mileage GG IX for a few years. They come up but not often. I don’t have to have a 30k mile car but I don’t won’t a 70k or above either. This car feels over priced to me and yes someone will pay it and buy it but that doesn’t have to be me. I’ve gotten that “like stock” car in the past that had problem after problem until I got rid of it. Until I saw that rust I felt like this was a 30 thousand car based off the ones I’ve seen on BAT.
32k lol **** that. overpriced by about 8k, especially if it did time in a salt state.
I sold my 2006 SE with 130k on it for 18k and it looked better underneath than that car did
It was your own choice to sell your car for 18k. Also matters when you sold it, as time goes by prices will change. Fact is the dealership will sell the car to somebody. I really wouldn't worry about the rust on the bottom of this car isn't all that bad. It looks like its just on the surface and can be treated.

No doubt people have gotten deals and will say these were way over priced but it is what it is. Nice cars bring top dollar.
I don’t know why people complain about Evo used market prices with
the abundance of natural born idiots I have seen buying used supras for 100k.
And please don’t come in here and tell me a Supra is worth 100k because it’s not.

Like I said, Money is loose. Everyone has a budget,a dream or a checklist. Thats why those three examples I referenced all sold for 30k+. Its smart to sell things for what the market will bear. That dealership, BAT and ebay know exactly what they are doing.
Money means different things to different people.Think about breaking what you make vs spend into a percentage. Thats going to be different for everyone.
We live in a different world then our parents did. People can make alot of money in different fields and choose what they do with it. If someone makes good money and wants to buy a 90's Supra for xxx, thats his choice. How about an 80's 911 for 130K? 1967 Camaro for 150K? 60's Ferrari for 300K? Do all signs point to a stockish evo going up, IDK but is it worth a gamble? Or a car you may be able to buy, drive a bit and break even or make money on while enjoying it.
Its America, the land of the ultimate consumer and opportunity. People make money and they make choices.People can also move money to make it (real estate, bank loans, investments etc)
The evo 8/9 is slowly becoming one of those cars that if you want it and have the money, buy it. If not, move on and buy something else.
Just like the 100k supras. I want one, but will i spend that much for one? No way! I couldnt afford one. So i dont sit there and complain about the outrageous price. I simply admire the car and move on.
