GG Evo IX MR at Cosmo Motors
Wouldn't buy from that dealership. Knew a guy that bought an evo from there once. Was told it was stock motor. Blew the motor shortly after purchasing the car and come to find out it had 3 stock pistons and rods and one Manley piston and rod. I wouldn't trust them.

Cash makes money. Throwing it into a car doesn't.

Don’t worry about me. I’ll be alright you worry about yours. You don’t see me buying a
supra for 100k as an investment, so you need to address those people because they obviously don’t know how money works and that was my point.

to get supras thinking one day it’s going to be an investment in 10 years lol and I’m seeing this with my eye
happening in south Florida. They don’t have the cash to buy the car outright.

If you cannot find another one for sale within two months I would personally be thinking it's a decent price then. Personally I would spend some of that money importing less expensive easily flippable car like those pastel coloured Nissan's for cheap just to find a decent exporter that will install all the parts you need for it to be legal in The United States of America and then import a JDM Mitsubishi IX for much less. But if time is really going to make a big difference and you cannot wait for some reason then maybe go for it. I bought a zero rust 78k Mitsubishi Evolution 7 GTA that is completely stock with the same cosmetic condition as the IX you're looking at except no chips in the glass. Try and get the dealer to at least come down by the cost of a new IX windshield because it is a structure issue not even a cosmetic one. As for springs and shocks you should be fine and will want new shocks at around 100,000 miles anyways and springs do not cost that much usually unless you get custom ones made. Those are my thoughts. Remember parts for these cars are apparently expensive so I wouldn't build a rally car out of it like I originally planned lol. You could also buy a cheap rolling Evo 8 chassis and I believe you can install all the IX stuff on it without much issue, then you get a brand new car essentially.
It sold Friday so back to the drawing board for me. I will pay a premium for a premium car. That wasn’t it. Lots of good advice here though. Maybe I’ll wait for an Evo V to become 25 years old.

Here was my Cosmo experience

My opinion: I am surprised they are still in business. I would recommend running away.

The problem I have more than anything is that these guys portray themselves as some sort of enthusiast shop that really knows these cars. I have absolutely no idea how anyone familiar with Evos could have driven my car the way it was when I bought it and not known that something was off. The bucking was absolutely wicked. And the lightweight flywheel was pretty hard to miss. And there was an aftermarket BOV *right there* in the engine bay, not hidden or anything. And they had several days to inspect the car and find stuff like this.
To me, the whole reason for paying a premium and buying at a place like this, is to get a carefully picked car, in a known condition, so you don't have to scour the earth looking for a good deal, and to get good service. I don't feel like that's what happened here. If they have expertise about these cars, I don't feel like they showed it. It seemed like just another used car lot that happened to have a bunch of Evos instead of Camrys. They did not go the "extra mile" for me at all, leaving me with a bunch of small stupid problems that I had to fix. I would not use them again.

"Instead, we inflate our prices AND we don't haggle."
And by fully detailed they mean your engine bay will smell like detailer for weeks and they may or may not screw up the headliner.
Also, make sure you establish where they bought the car before you consider buying anything there. For instance, whether it was from an auction, or repo'd, or whatever. With some research you might be able to figure out what they paid for it.
