Evo 8 vs 9 lower timing belt cover, any better for a 2.4?

So as far as lower cover and Evo 8 and 9 goes, the only thing I can think of thats different is the water pump. Any one have direct info one which cover works best for a 2.4 block swapped into a 2.0?

I can say my OEM Evo9 cover needs more trimming than I had done in the water pump area. Since this needs to be replaced, I can order an Evo 8 or 9 cover and didnt know if their was a difference that would help this.

I didn't have to do any of that trimming for my Evo9 cover on my car (other than what it needed for the ATI damper). But I used the ER modded pump.

ER modded water pump? That would make sense, Im guessing its purely this particular pump thats making the difference then. Just didnt know if perhaps an 8 cover would be any different in this area.

It's an Evo8 pump with material welded on to cover the larger water port in the 64 block.

I went with an Outlander water pump. It was dirty cheap (around 80-90usd) and also there was no need of welding or using an adapter plate. Also, the cover fitted almost perfectly without trimming
