Manual says you have to move the rear crossmember to get clearance enough to remove tank

all i did to remove mine was pull the driveshaft, remove the 2 bolts on the front diff support, let it drop/hang down, then remove the upper diff support aluminum bracket/ toe reinforcement bars ( you have to do this anyway.if not the tank will not drop enough to clear the studs, then all you really have to fight, after its dropped is getting the fill tube off, hope this helps.

Rossmotorsports.com That's where I got mine and it was cheaper shipped than what the closest dealer to me wanted for one.

I am confirming, the JDM tank does fit.

Biggest difference is no fuel temp sensor on JDM tank, and the fill tube vent style hose is smaller on the JDM tank than USDM.

Both problems above should be solvable. I'll continue to update as i go.

Not sure when they were discontinued, was able to get a USDM replacement about a year and a half ago through Mitsubishi. Paid just ~$500 for it and it took them about 3 days to get it in.

Correct on the JDM tanks not having a fuel temp sensor just as the USDM cars do not have an IAT temp sensor from the factory. They have been shown been shown by tuners to read the same, hence why most tuners now use fuel temp for IAT when setting the USDM Evo’s up for Flex Fuel.

With the JDM Tank simply wiring in a IAT sensor into the UICP for fuel temp should work exactly the same and car should run without issue. Plus then you’ll have it in place if you ever want to set the car up for full flex fuel!!

Info on the photo:
the top hose is the new one i created.
the bottom hose is the USDM OEM piece.

Here is the one thing you will need to create to make the jdm tank work in a USDM car.
-8AN fuel hose (about 7")
-10AN fuel hose (about 4")
a male barbed coupler adapter (-8an to -10an transition)

As long and your overall hose length is about 11-12 inches, the actual length of each size hose should not matter too much. But above is what i did.
This is probably also overkill since it is basically just a breather to let air escape as you fill. But I used all fuel lines just to be safe.

I literally just bought a JDM fuel filler neck from Rossport at the end of June. It was a pretty penny though. I notice the part # I got is different then what is in your video. I also believe you can get the rubber fill hose, but you have to use the JDM part #. I also bought one of those at the beginning of 2020. I believe I bought it from nengun.
