Hi all! I’m new to the evo community with the recent purchase of my wicked white 2003 evo 8. I purchased This car a few weeks ago kinda on a whim and have been scared since the drive home. A little background on me, I’m from the diesel truck world. Building decently fast street trucks is how i started. So being a “tuner” car is really putting me behind the 8 ball. First off I’ll start by listing my concerns and at the end I’ll put picture of the mod list of everything done to the car.
When the car is idling it seems to be a “lopeing” idle. Cold or warm it will normally do this. My AEM gauge reads around lean 14.8- 0000 (which I’m assuming is leaner than it reads) sometimes after driving on the highway and come to a red light, it idles perfect no lope and 14.7ish. At normal idle it stays around 1000rpms and will jump up and down but not enough where it seems to be a vacuum leak. I have Briefly ran propane around to check. Not something I’m ruling out but something to note.
When WOT A/R’a are on the richer side 10.5-12.7. Runs very well up top. My concern could be nothing, but I just Want to make sure this seems alright. I will Pull a data log of cold idle and warm idle in the morning. Attached is a 3-4 pull. I by No means know a lot about deciphering this but would love to learn more. This is my first time ever posting in a online forum so I’m exited to hear from you guys!
P.S it was tuned by tscomputuned and I’ve reached out to them and have not got a response yet!
As said those cams will definitely have a lopy idle. And for what you’re wide band is showing during idle can be difficult to really tell what’s going on. Your best bet would be to check what you’re fuel trims are doing. I would suggest reading Merlins guide to tuning. https://www.evoscan.com/ecuflash/Mer...UIDE-V1.7a.pdf
