Tragedy in Evo and Cycling community (RIP Curt Brown)
I think a ride in Curt’s honor would be nice. I know that with all of his parts I have in the car (head, Intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and 2.2 shortblock) it will feel like a ride for him whenever I take it out of the garage. Would be nice to have a small sticker to put on it too.
I bet folks interested could still get the “Curt Brown shortblock” built. Ray, the machine shop owner, may be willing to continue building the motors that he and Curt worked hand and hand together in creating the blueprint. After all, he’s got to continue to make a living until he decides to retire or possibly hand the shop over to his son.

Though I never met Curt personally he will be missed , by family , friends , and his tremendous contribution to the evo/ dsm community . I use one of his ported stock intake manifold with the 70 mm welded flange. RIP Curt Brown # evo/dsm legend

Curt was a great man! I met him because of a crack piston in my Evo VIII. We talk about the motor, the many options he offered, and beyond that. He built me my block, head, ported polish exhaust, and intake manifold. Whenever we spoke, it seems we could of went for hours, him dropping some knowledge and passing it to all of us. My motor ran for the first time this week. I just find out about this tragedy. He's a man that stands by his words and product, and I will forever cherish what he made for me. It's a significant loss in the community, the shop, and particularly for his family. I will make that motor do what it do as we talked about it.
Forever a friend RIP Curt Brown

I was just thinking about Curt Brown today and came here to pay my respects. As a cyclist this stings just a bit more.
Apologies for the necro to all the sensitive people.
