Help me! Evo 8 FQ300 or Evo 9 MR

Help! Before buying. Evo 8 fq300 or Evo 9 MR

Which is better in these points ? Reliability, Sustainability, Investment.

Hey guys. I saw lot of topic with this question but all was old and i need fresh informations with fresh news about ,thats why i made this so..
Im in front of buying my 1st Evo. There are 2 cars whiches i like but can’t really choose one of them.
1.) 2004 Evo 8 FQ300 LHD 6-speed, mint condition inside-outside, 80k km in clock.
2.) 2006 Evo 9 MR, MIVEC, LHD, 6-speed, mint condition, 120k km in clock.
All the two cars has the same tune, they are around 350-380hp on the second program. Interiors are the highest level if we talk about 8-9s.
The Evo 8 is a bit cheaper (4.000€ the difference).
The first thing i want is a good car what i can use almost as a daily but its sporty when i go for track day 5times/year. The second thing i thinking about the investment.. How i saw the 9 evos are hold the price better maybe. But from the other side ,the two cars are almost the same ,the “biggest” difference btw them is the Mivec system in the IXs engine. Is the mivec system give as much more as it costs more?

please help my choose with pros and cons, the points are reliability, sustainability, investment.

Thanks for the help 🤘🏼

From a reliability standpoint, i would check who has the most service records. Ive been driving my evo 8 for 12 years and not once has it left me stranded. But i also am very lightly modified and i keep up with regular service. So i would choose the one that appears better taken care of.

From an investment standpoint, evo 9s tend to hold their value better. BUT.. low mileage and low mods (or stock) will have best resale value. If you plan to mod and track it, i would say the investment portion should go out the window. Just drive and enjoy it.

As far as mivec goes, from what i understand it helps with turbo spool. But i dont have mivec so im not sure on possible trouble or other benefits with that system.

Both 8s and 9s are awesome and im sure you would be happy with either.

Evos are awesome cars, fun to drive and reliable as long as you take care of them. GOOD LUCK!
