Broke body stud

What would you do in my situation?

I pulled out the janky battery tray the previous owner put in to clean and discovered one of the body studs was broke.

My original thought was to drill it out and use a bolt in its place but it is sandwiched between two pieces of metal so the opposite side is not visible.

I also thought about just grinding it down and secure the new battery tray with only three bolts.

What would you do in my situation?

Would probably be ok with the three mounting points. If you wanted to fix it I would grind down and weld a stud to it.

haha I was just looking at those at work today!

So I think it is settled. Grind down the nub, get the Fathouse Fab kit and get on with my life.

Very true.

It would just bother me knowing it is there. I'd rather grind it down and put some paint over it.

That's the right way to do it. Safety googles!

UPDATE:

Ground down the body stud and got some paint on it.

Then... Put the Fathouse Fab kit in. This weekend I'll get the battery cable and box in.

Which cables did you modify? I just happened to be getting around to installing one of these and it seems like a couple of cables need to be extended.

I had to extend all the cables but the one from the fuse box.

there are 3 different sizes, 4ga, 6ga and 8ga.

I ordered some butt splices from Amazon and got the battery cable from Oreilly's.
