I got into an accident (hit a pole)and broken my driver side rear door, also damaged rocker panel and inner rocker panel, the door is hardly open. How much it gonna cost to repair. (I have the title but I didn't go to dmv and sign it yet, because I cant get my driver's license renewed. I wonder in this case the insurance gonna total it? I bought the insurance for this car before the accident )
I understand that door need to be replaced, but that's not the point, the point is this accident damaged the structure (inner rocker panel ), I wonder how much is it gonna cost to repair this structural damage? Any advice will be appreciated.
I have some friends on bodywork around here (Virginia). Judging by the photo you'll likely be looking at 5,000 minimum for labor. Not sure how much the rocker and pillars will run for OEM from the dealer. But you could source some probably 3rd party. Paint for that color (BBY) is expensive as hell too (don't ask how I know haha).
If it's a clean title evo, then it would be classified as rebuilt (at least in Virginia, not sure how Alabama do it). If it's already a rebuilt, and you try to go through your insurance it'll be considered BER and they'll just pay you out for it. Actually, they'll probably pay you regardless if you go through your insurance. Is there any other frame damage? Like a crinked roof

In most places, rebuilt titles are only issued to cars that get written off. Cars that get fixed by insurance typically don't carry a brand.

It's likely different between states here in the US. Cars that get written off here would carry a salvage title. Once fixed and then inspected, it'll be a rebuilt title.
Even if it's not a totaled vehicle, but required say cosmetic, electrical, mechanical work (theft), still would show up on the car's history and would not be considered clean. Virginia is likely one of the most strict states, because you can only go down from a clean and never go up to a clean. I think awhile ago when we had the hurricane floods in the south (I wanna say Louisiana area), tons of flooded cars were repaired, fixed, got inspected and were returned to clean title status. But once they entered Virginia, it went BACK to a rebuilt title which was less than ideal for a lot of people.
Some states even let you drive around on a salvage title lol. Just goes to show the disparity between!

Yup, you're right. This is how it works here in the US.
