Im posting this cause i had a hard time finding any info on it.
My evo, when i bought it, had some big long bolts that were holding up the seat belt strap. The one that is up by your shoulder on the B pillar
I wanted to buy the original bolts, or something close to it, so i could put the covers back on.
Turns out you cannot buy these from Mitsubishi. You can only buy the entire seat belt assembly.... Ugghhh.
And then when i tried to source them myself, i ran into issues figuring out what size they were.
Turns out they are SAE 7-16 x 20 . There must be some USDM thing that they have to be SAE.
Anyway.. i ordered these.
Head Diameter: 5/8" Length, End To End: 1 5/8" Sleeved Smooth Shoulder Area Outer Diameter: 9/16" O.D. Sleeved Smooth Shoulder Area Height: 3/16" Threaded Area Length: 1-1/16" Thread: 7-16 x 20
bump - do they use the same bolt for the lower mount of the seatbelt as well? i've ran my buschur removable for so long i've probably lost the original seatbelt bolts
It should be the same for the lower bolt as this has been the standard size for decades. I assume it goes back to USA testing in the 1960s, and then everyone just adopted it as it's cheaper vs to requalify and test their fasteners. I have a friend with a 1976 911, originally sold in Germany, and it has the 7/16-20 bolts. My 92 DSM had them, my 2009 Tacoma has them.... my 1968 AMX has them.
