Time to start upgrading. Please chime in.
Hey guys! So I've had the car since the middle of February and I've decided it's time to start modding. Been researching and so many different options. My current mods when purchased are as follows. (I'm listing engine related mods or monitoring mods)
Current
Stock ECU tuned by English Racing on Speed Density
AMS 3" TBE w/Ams Test Pipe
Buddy Club 272's
ARP Headstuds
Walbro 255
APS twin port BOV
AEM Uego Wideband
AEM 3.5 bar map sensor
AEM boost solenoid
Boost Gauge
Oil Pressure Gauge
Oil Temp Gauge
K&N Drop In Filter
Everything else stock
On order which will be installed soon
AEM Infinity 506 w fail safes (Afr, boost, fuel pressure, and oil pressure) w/ boost on the fly and anti-lag.
Walbro 450 High Pressure
ID1300x Injectors
ETS 3" Speed Density Intake
My initial goal for the next few months while I gather other parts is to run the mods above and have the car tuned on 91-92 and E85 while maxing out my 10.5 hotside evo 8 turbo. I need to confirm if my head has upgraded valve springs/retainers. If not that will be upgraded soon. The car is set to be tuned in the next 2-3 weeks.
2nd phase to my upgrade path which I plan to have done in the next few months is to go fp red. I want to run the stock block as far as I can while being safe as I plan to run the block as long as possible. I will also in the next several months to a yr get another bare short block and build that up to replace the stock one later. I’m sure I am missing more items for this phase, but to name a few… O2 housing and dump, clutch, intercooler and piping, exhaust manifold, fp red.
With my initial goal in mind, what should I get now on top of what I already have and ordered to support maxing out my stock turbo? What about when I’m ready for the fp red? I only want to buy parts one time. I want to do this right. If there are parts I need to have now while keeping in mind going fp red, what should I be looking for as well?
And yes I know it’s going to cost some money, I’m ready and funded. I just need a good solid upgrade path. I can do the research on what parts are proven and work well. Just having a go to list of items I need to have and consider for these goals in mind would help me tremendously with my short window to get parts in time for the initial tune.
I apologize for the long post, I’m trying to get my ducks in a row and want to start researching on these parts so I can be ready to be tuned again in the summer with the fp red. Please let me know what items I am missing or need to consider. Thank you!
I also did a compression test recently. My results starting from timing side with a hot motor and WOT. 165-162-165-170. Current mileage on the vehicle is 12,900 I believe (I havent driven it in 2 weeks).

This is a similar path to how I went.
First, I would skip the standalone. The stock ECU is plenty capable of what you are trying to do and unless its a track day car, you really don't need the added benefits of a standalone.
I also skipped the exhaust manifold and am running the stock manifold. This kept my car spooling as quick as possible as I wasn't aiming for the highest possible peak numbers but this is a personal choice; a manifold will net you some peak numbers.
I don't know anything about the buddyclub cams, but there might be some room there to move to a GSC S2 as well.
For the clutch, just go to a twin disc right away. I ended up cooking my single with the red and went to an exedy twin.
Otherwise, it looks like you have a pretty good path picked. Stock ECU, ECU-boost control, and a stock block red makes for a fun car.

you will make about 350 or so on a stock turbo, the red you can push till around 450,475 on the stock block.
The 450 should be good till almost 600HP. Not sure how far you can push the 1300CC
I would go with a twin disk clutch just to have that done.
Would not hurt to port the exhaust manifold why you have it off the car.
