high mileage 200k+ mile evo 9 prices

Who here have a high mileage evo or have bought one? Current market prices seems to be over 20k for any Evo 9 now.

I paid around $17k for a 90k mile Evo 9 in 2014, not sure how much it would be worth today (109k miles) since it has a lot of rust underneath from MA winters. Not planning to sell it but sometimes I do wonder lol.

I paid $9.5k for mine middle of 2020 but it was incredibly beat. 207k miles, salvage title, HID/sunroof package

Like an 8/10 mechanically(zero rust CA only car, compression of 170-180 across, no issues shifting etc) but probably a 3/10 exterior lol. had over 15 very visible big dents, very faded paint to the point where it is 3 different shades of yellow now, rubber trim severely beat etc

Its gonna be a long road back to glory but I've given myself 2 years from purchase date to get it photo shoot worthy and so far, making decent but slow process.

I've seen clean titled shells not in the best condition and/or missing a lot, go for nearly what I paid for my mechanically sound salvage titled one.

Around 27kish on the lower side, up to 34k on the higher side as long as the rust isn't terrible.

I’m guessing those were Canadian numbers? Translated to USD, 21-27k sounds about right from what I have seen. 27k - 34k USD cars around here are bone stock / low mile cars OR the more common $40k fully built car and the owner wanting reimbursement for all their mods and “investments”

I was comparing with my friend, we both have 9’s with similiar bolt on mods. My car is 109k miles, mechanically sound but has very significant rust and corrosion underneath from being a daily driver in Massachussetts for many years. My exterior and paint is flawless aside from several small dings. His car has 180k miles and also mechanically sound but has no exterior paint left, the clear coat peeled entirely under the Arizona sun. No dings/dents.

Hands down we prefer wrenching on his car. People underestimate how painful it is to work on rusted bolts/ nuts and everything 14mm and smaller wants to snap right off. Seemingly simple jobs are nightmares. And it is a long term continually worsening problem, whereas bad exterior body paint just needs a new paint job (more or less) lol

Higher mileage one would be around 15-16k for about 200k miles in eastern US

This seems pretty accurate, I'm at 187k with a pretty clean car and I'd ask 17-18ish.

With these cars, I feel actual condition and history of the vehicle is more important than mileage. The drivetrain is pretty darn reliable, but the chassis is prone to rust.

The silver evo is a local and has 240k miles! Ironically it's one of the cleanest evo's I've seen and it's completely stock. I think it's a much better buy to get a clean, higher mileage evo in the teens-low 20's than something with 50k miles for 40k+.
