Selling may be your best option considering you can lease a brand new one from Mitsu for $339/month with a residual in the $24 to $25K range. It wouldn't make much sense to pay $550 a month and then $28 K residual.

Man I know life sometimes can put you in a bind, but whoever that salesman was he is on a vacation somewhere...hope things work out, and to save you money in the future buy used.
