Evo 4-8 Best stroke combination for street and maybe drag racing?
Evo 4-8 Best stroke combination for street and maybe drag racing?
Hi,
This is the setup that I have in mind for my evo 8 engine:
2.3l
100mm stroke manley turbo tuff light weight
150mm boostline rods Ibeam
1400HD pistons 10.5.1 86mm
kelfort cams 272
Kelfort spring&retainers 90lbs
*2,000cc ID injectors
*skunk2 intake manifold and throttle
*vband facing forward manifold
*6466 precision dual ball bearing gen2
*aem fuel rail
*Cam gear
I will be going haltech elite1500. My goal is get 800-900HP with E85. 500-550hp for daily drive.
any suggestion or experience, feel free to comment. No hurt of feeling.
about cams and spring idk if there'S the one that will take me to that hp rate.
CHEERS!✌

Drag racing typically favors low-stroke, high RPM motors. Street motors favor low-end torque and response. The build you spec'd out is more of a street motor with the stroke and relatively small cams for the power, ultimately the balance is up to you. I would recommend using a better intake manifold like the Magnus cast piece since the Skunk2 doesn't perform that well. I really don't think a 900HP capable car makes a good, usable and fun street car, but I digress.
