Hello guys, I was hoping to get some help with an issue I’m having with my evo 8.

My car does not want to go into first gear. It feels like it’s physically locked out. With the car on or off, it makes no difference. I took the linkages off and it still does not want to go in first. 2nd-5th and reverse work like normal.

Right before this happened I drove the car rather hard and missed second gear. Did I bend a shift fork?

What else should I look for?

stupid question that you've probably already done; with the engine running, have you tried shifting into third (with the clutch disengaged obviously) and then directly into 1st? my 1st and 2nd are notchy as hell before the transmission is fully warmed up, same with my 94 DSM

 

6 speed evo 8 gsr which i had, always had the problem going smoothly into 1st and reverse when cold.
