Best Exhaust and intercooler for evo 8

Hi so I’m looking for an exhaust / intercooler to buy what are some good options I don’t really want a quiet exhaust but also not a ricey exhaust

so far I been looking into a tomei , ets , and a buscher

as for the intercooler i want a sheepy intercooler but just want to know if there’s any better intercoolers before I buy

This has literally been discussed a thousand times over on this forum. All the answers are here if you search.

Depends on how you drive the car and your power goals.

Maybe size and configuration should be the sought after parameters? Full 3" w/resonator or not? Test pipe or not? Ti muffler or not?

What power goals do you have in mind? (which should drive your Intercooler spec) Do you mind a thick intercooler where you will have to lose your front crash beam?

Intercooler. If you're into drag stuff get some big lump from ETS or whoever, if you're circuit tracking your car or want just using it on the street get a Plazmaman Pro, which is the best intercooler on the market.

Exhaust. If you're running a stock frame turbo get a good tubular manifold (hypertune do a great one) and a Artec O2 housing and a custom v banded stainless 3.5" front pipe and cat back with a suitable resonator and muffler for the sound output you'd like to achieve.

Best for me so far on my Evo 8. AMS intercooler and HKS Sport exhaust. These were good and won't break my bank.

I recently noticed the Mishimoto IC is carb exempt, as is their entire IC and Pipe kit:
https://www.mishimoto.com/mitsubishi...kit-01-07.html

Are they the best? I doubt it. But it's what I'll be running soon to avoid headaches.

I'd rather run OEM for the IC piping. Probably the FMIC too, to tell the truth.

Is ONE a brand? Or OE?

AFAIK you don't need a carb EO number for the intercooler. Any intercooler should pass, no problem*. The intake piping is a different story. The biggest improvement comes from the LICP. So just doing that and leaving the rest stock is more on the stealthy side vs doing all the piping.

*Do your own research.

Autocorrect. Yay.

As for OP, I'm at 430whp with only a LICP. The OEM stuff has worked great. So maybe depends on individual needs.
