Evo 4 Quarter Panel Replacement

Hi all,

I tried to message some people that did the conversion but no answer. I did some searching but I don't know if I got a definitive answer on this. I apologize in advance for any ignorance but I have an opportunity to purchase a Evo 4 but both quarter panel wheel well area right above the tire is starting to show signs of rust. I see I can get Mirage quarter panels from Mitsubishi still but wanted to make sure they fit. I've read Evo4 body/interior parts to a Mirage work so I imagine it would be the same with Mirage to Evo. I just wanted to get a concrete answer regarding this before making a purchase. Also, does anyone know what that roughly costs to get painted/replaced as well? I know it will depend on shop but just curious. Thanks for any help on this!

In the US out of pocket to cut and weld in two entire rear quarters on a car that old is going to depend really, may not even be worth doing.

If you’re rusting at the rear quarters what’s the undercarriage look like? What’s the quality of the paint on the doors, skirts and rear bumper?

You may be looking at a full respray too, if you want the car to look right.

Post pictures if you can.

But I’d say you’re easily looking 10k+ at any reputable body shop.

Thanks for the input! I felt it was going to be an expensive job. The paint is in bad shape so it would need a respray. Undercarriage is actually in decent shape. The car mechanically is good, a couple mods, lower miles but the paint/rust is the issue. The potential costs of the paint/bodywork is going to be almost what I'd be paying for the vehicle so it looks like I'd need to go in another direction. Thanks!
