This is my plan as well. I greatly enjoyed having my evo as a daily. Although I dont drive it as much now, i still enjoy it very much when i do get behind the wheel. My plan from the beginning was always to do minor quality upgrades with a focus on reliability, and it has payed off for the last 14 years. For a while i was worried about not being able to fix something that breaks, but i realized that took away from enjoying such a rare amazing car.

I still haven't encountered a discontinued part for my JDM 7's. I'm sure the time will come, but Amayama has been able to get everything i've needed so far.

Is Amayama legit? I just have been on that website yesterday. Look like they have 4th gear that I am looking for and nobody has it here. How long does the shipping takes? Do they have parts on stock usually?

They absolutely are legit, but they made an update to their website a little while ago that made nearly every out-of-stock part appear back in stock, so don't assume that it's guaranteed to arrive once you click the 'order' button. For example, the Evo 123 5th gear parts are listed as in stock again, but Mitsubishi hasn't had any for at least 5 years. Amayama does not stock parts directly, and it takes a while for Mitsubishi to get the parts to them, and then on to you, but it's worth the wait to get access to the Japanese Mitsubishi parts warehouses.

Here is my magical sources for us Canadian ct9a owners (I wonder if they'd ship to the USA maybe some can try). I was seriously surprised when I discovered this since the evo 8/9 was never offered in the Canadian market. They shipped everything I need for my 9. They even had some discontinued items in stock! If you don't see the part you need in the menu just type in the part number it comes up.

This is a lot nicer than the $200 some clown is asking in the classified section. Assuming it's in stock and ships to US.

Countless times I've paid for items from these online mitsubishi parts websites and have had to be credited back, I can't trust a single online inventory system without calling first. It's even happened from lancershop.

Trans case is also discontinued so imagine cracking or braking your trans case and only option would be to weld and repair it.
Input or Output? I am guessing output since that is harder to find. Please take a look at the following links. Maybe I should write a script to do this in an automatic process.

These guys are honestly great. Don't trust their stock levels though. Just give them a shout over the phone before placing your order.

I've ordered thousands of dollars worth of parts from Amayama. Really rare OEM stuff that I couldn't find anywhere else. They're legit. Shipping takes a while though.

I found a lot of discontinued parts on Amayama. It means they have it or the website only says they have it and after I order something they will send me an email that they are out of stock with this specific part? Did you ever ordered something that is discontinued from them?

Yea I even called the parts department that runs a mitsubishi parts website. I asked them if I can put down an order and the parts guy reluctantly agreed to go through with the order. Then six months later its cancelled and I get a refund. Waste of time! I prefer that they just tell me no so I can find a different vendor that can get the parts. I can't blame them for cancelling the order since its a part that becomes a discontinued part. However, special order, back ordered, and discontinued labels are being swapped like removable stickers for some parts. I rather go with a vendor that specializes in ordering parts that are hard to source. They always can deliver the part or tell me that it can't be sourced.

Anyone that ordered from Amayama before what is the Import duty cost? I am trying to order 4th gear and total price is 280$. Amayama sent me email that I will need to pay Import duty fee when the part arrive to my local ups. It also says that anything below 200 is Import duty fee free Should I just do 2 orders because I am ordering 2 parts so 1 order will no exceed 200$? How much is Import duty fee? Please help!

What you need to worry about are these businesses that try to
buy your evo’s whether drivable or blown, then turn around and scrap the car to get rich
and increase the price on used parts because of greed.
