Just Another Headlight Restoration Post

I finally decided to restore my yellowish headlights. Took me a good two hours. It’s my first time and I’m stoked about how it turned out.

Thanks Kevin, that's exactly what i was after. With only a polish cleaning, they will last maybe 6 months, but if you clear film them they will last ~5 yrs. Well worth the $$$

I used the 3M ultra headlight restorer kit. The kit came with clear coat with UV protection wipes to apply on the headlight after polish. Supposedly should last two years🤞.

I screech about polishing headlights ALL THE TIME so absolutely applaud this effort. Now to really finish it off you get some of the 3M vinyl crap and then you have UV, rocks, muck, whatever protection that can easily be swapped.

Are there any threads that covers how’s to take care of rust? It’s definitely starting to get worst even by it sitting in the garage.

you probably have all over the engine bay. I would remove the engine, maybe strip and clean rust yourself, then take it to get resprayed

Luckily for me, I don’t believe rust has manifested that far yet. Thanks for watching out.

I think he's referring to the upper radiator support. Common spot at the front of the car.

If that is the case, I would imagine removal of the front bumper, headlights, and radiator would suffice, shouldn’t need to drop the engine to remove rust from the radiator support. 🧐
