Hi, I've been looking at evo's as you probably saw with a post I made. I was wondering which would be better the x or the ix in terms of room, reliability and modification compatibility thanks.

 

Generally seems like 8/9 more raw blah blah blah, X more comfy. Both are beasts. Parts more available for X maybe at this point. SST and 6 speed are weaker transmission options. Better selection of lights for X by a wide margin. 8/9 are better but I'm biased.
You want a daily get an X, you want a manboy race toy CT9A can't be beat.

 

Both have been well documented to be reliable, both also have plenty of tried and true mod combos. Id pick the 8/9 if you plan to do heavy modifications and weight loss, id pick the X if your goal is a slightly more comfortable and safer car for minor mods to cruise. Looks are subjective, but i feel both have good looks from certain angles. Just keep in mind that both are also based on econo boxes and will not come anywhere near newer cars as far as new tech. But both are very fun to drive and rival newer cars while having "old" engeneering.

 

The X fits *most* of those requirements. Between the two, you would be happier with the X.

 

Agreed.... you'd be happier with the X, short term, but once the mod bug bites you (or if you are a "gearhead"), the IX will keep you engaged and loving this platform long term.
