hey guys, going to need a rear diff rebuild so figured I’d go for an upgrade. The shop I use works with Shep mostly and from what I’m reading, there isn’t much difference between them and TRE. Is the rear diff bushing upgrade kit necessary for this? Here is the quote they gave me.

I'd be after way more info on what they think it takes to swap the diff itself, 1495 seems steep to me and I know you can drop it in an hour...in a field...alone and mostly clueless.

 

yeah thats too much for installation. as for the bushings, thats probably unnecessary if you're not racing

 

1. Send it to TRE
2. Red line 75w90 is like $25
3. That install labor is insane
4. Find a new shop.

Yeah dude. My shop bills 4.5hrs for the work described. R&I diff, send out for build, and replace the 4 mount bushings. Plus align. So around $800..

The price of the gear oil is insane...
