Dealership OEM Short Block Availability

Anyone had any luck this year getting a short block from the mitsu dealer for an Evolution 9?

I have been in contact with them for a few weeks now, it is on back order with no ETA. Just curious if anyone got lucky this year?

Thank you !!!

Thanks, yes I am aware they have some. Their price is about 700$ more than the dealership. I am not in a rush as my car is still running. So was just hoping to wait for the dealership to save a couple bucks.

Just was curious if anyone got any from the dealership this year.

You order it, and wait patiently for it to show up from Japan when it's not in stock in the US. Usually 30-90 days.

Yes, dealer said I have to wait until they get an ETA at least before making payment. No deposits to hold an order either.

So I am basically checking with them every 2 weeks for an ETA now. Whenever they get some I will notify this thread

Appreciate all the responses !

How are more of these becoming available? I've seen them popping up here and there. Is Japan actually manufacturing some of these? If so, that would be pretty awesome.

Yes. As stated. You place order. You wait. It comes. We've installed like 5 in the past year at RMC. And about the same number of EvoX long blocks.

It seems like there might be a supply issue with short blocks for the Evolution 9 from the Mitsubishi dealer. It can vary by location and availability. You could try reaching out to multiple dealerships or exploring aftermarket options if time is a concern.

Well i know Mitsubishi has an engine plant. Since there is a demand to make more blocks they use existing molds to cast new blocks. The 4g63 block might be used in other asian markets but I dont think the Evo block is currently being used in any other current gen Mitsubishi vehicle.
