Pairing ETS wide tank IC with Injen full IC piping?
Pairing ETS wide tank IC with Injen full IC piping?
Just curious if anyone knows whether or not I can run an ETS wide tank intercooler with full intercooler piping and intake from Injen?
I plan on ditching the Injen IC piping and intake for an ETS short route IC upper and lowing piping and ETS SD intake; however, that won’t be for another 4-6 months before I can make that happen. So I just want to ensure I can run the intercooler from ETS with Injen IC piping and intake in the mean time.
Note: I did call and ask the guys at MAP, but the guy I talked to literally had no clue. He also couldn’t tell me what ETS IC piping I needed since they offer all these variants on their site. So there’s that.
Edit:
I called ETS today and they said their intercooler should, in theory, match up with the Injen IC piping as long as it matches the stock diameter. The IC won’t be here for probably another couple of weeks, but I’ll try to remember to update this post to verify whether it did fit or not.

I have a wide tank and it hooked right up to my existing piping, unsure on brand. I'd expect this to be the case for the Injen piping as well.
Side note, I'm not sure I'd bother with the short route piping if you already have the Injen stuff. Money is probably better spent elsewhere.

Yea I’m not looking to upgrade those too soon, but I hate the way it looks in the engine bay snd it was put on the previous owner so idk what all its been through.
Do you know if I can run the ETS SD intake with the injen pipes? It looks like I’d be able to considering it’s just the intake filter and pipe that goes directly to the turbo.
thank you for the input. That makes me feel a little better.

You should be able to make the SD intake fit with those pipes, they leave room for the stock airbox from what I can see so you should have room.
As for the pipes, the short route is kind of a pain in my eyes. My car had that when I bought it with a mini battery, I hated that thing. It would always die, struggled to start the car, etc. I ended up relocating my battery to the trunk to fix the issues. Some people have good luck with the mini batteries it seems but if you do end up going short route, look around these forums a bit. There is a write up of using a civic battery with a cut down stock tray, I don't think I could suggest that route enough.

It was just incredibly annoying so I gave up and relocated. If I had see the civic battery thing, I probably would have gone that route and honestly still might long term. The trunk is ok, but tracks can get a little weird about it sometimes. I have yet to "fail" tech but probably should lol.
Yea, mine was so much worse than every one else it seems. Mine would struggle to start the car driving it every day and even keeping it on a tender over winter it seemed like it was always bad the next year.

I would say mine was worse. i even had a direct line to hotwire the starter. that later turned into a starter button lol. It got so much worse with e85 cold starts. If i didnt hack it, now with SD tune, I would have been in so much trouble using all of the little juice i had with the small batt.
I remember going down this path. I think we did the same thing, where we had to wire in a relay triggered by the OEM key start signal to create an additional direct current path between the battery and starter. I never had a small battery, but I wouldn't put them in anything except a track car lol
I'm kinda stubborn and really wanted the small cheap battery to work. I dont like lifting a full sized batt
No problem. When I swapped my old IC to the wide tank, I contacted ETS to ask lol.

its interesting you bring up the battery issue with the short route. I know on their site it says you only need the recirculating kit if you’re running a mini battery, but it doesn’t explicitly state that you need one. Yet all around the forums people had to do that or run the battery to the truck. I haven’t heard about the civic battery tray, but that’s interesting. I also have a civic so I might have to look into that more.
